Auckland visit

Nana B flew out of Auckland for LA and we thought it would be fun to take a few days to spend with her exploring the city and checking out a new spot in NZ. We have heard numerous bad reviews about Auckland, but honestly we really enjoyed it. It's a great city- just congested. We stayed in Britomart, down on the water within walking distance to downtown/CBD and the wharf. We visited the Sky Tower (like the Space Needle in Seattle), walked all over downtown, went to the Auckland Zoo, MOTAT, the Auckland Art Gallery (their large art museum), and drove up One Tree Hill and Cronwall Park to see the obelisk/tribute to Kupe and the Maori settlers from 1000 years ago. We got our city fix in for sure!

The Auckland Zoo was great- fun to see Townie's fav animal- the red panda!

Quincy LOVES orangutans

Heading to see seals and penguins

Littles Blues! Blue penguins are only found in NZ

Can you find the boys?

MOTAT- Museum of Transportation and Technology. Look at this tiny plane!
